Church School

Our Board of Christian Education consists of fourteen adult members serving three-year terms, two youth representatives serving one-year terms, and the Director of Christian Education. The joint efforts of the Director, adult and youth members, is to assess the spiritual growth and educational needs of all persons in the church and design a program of Christian Education which meets those needs.

Our goal is to enable each person and organization of the church to participate as fully as possible in the church’s spiritual growth and educational ministry.

Church school runs from September through May and meets every Sunday except on Family Sunday, the last Sunday of each month.  Church School is offered for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 at the 9:00 a.m. service, and Pre-Kindergarten through High School at the 10:30 a.m. service.   On Family Sundays, all children go to church with their parents and, after the Children’s Story, supervised activities are provided for children in the second grade and under. Older children are encouraged to remain with their parents for the full service. Every Sunday throughout the summer is Family Sunday.

A staffed child care/nursery is provided for infants through two-year-olds. A one-year Confirmation program for students in 8th grade and up allows our youth to explore faith and spirituality issues so that they may be better informed individuals in becoming members of the church community.

There are regularly scheduled church school teacher meetings and training opportunities provided to maintain an open and affirming sense of unity and cooperation for all volunteer leadership people.
